The Ghost Finder: Buck's Harbor Files is a story-driven narrative adventure. You play as Dodger, a high schooler with a budding gift for telekinesis. Your story opens on a quiet harbor at night, with sailboats resting on still water, a church steeple rising over the rooftops, and a lighthouse beam sweeping across the bay under a full moon.
The tale unfolds through narrated dialogue. A Journal keeps track of your investigation, and the current case, The Keeper's Light, is shown on screen. Your abilities are tracked as you go: Dodger begins at Telekinesis Lv 1 with a single power, Kinetic Hurl, and room to grow.
