About
SHIELDBREAK is a first-person sci-fi shooter for keyboard and mouse, set on a rocky alien plateau. Hold your ground among crates, low walls, glowing energy barriers, and jagged rock spires, and survive wave after wave of hostile forces.
Combat is built on one rule: energy weapons strip shields, ballistic weapons kill. The Plasma Pistol and Plasma Repeater shred shields but are weak against flesh. Hold fire on the Pistol to overcharge it and strip any shield. The Assault Rifle and Battle Rifle struggle against shields but are deadly once they drop, and Battle Rifle headshots deal triple damage when the shield is down. Swap weapons with Q, or hold E to take a new weapon.
Know your enemy. Kill the Warden and its Skitters panic. Flank the Bulwarks, because their shield only covers the front. Back up your guns with frag grenades (G) and a melee strike (F) that kills instantly from behind, and move with sprint, jump, and crouch to find better angles.
