Substrata

Substrata is a 2D sci-fi metroidvania set beneath the crust of Veyra-9, a hollow moon. Your salvage pod has gone down in the Upper Caverns, and the only way home is up, through the dark rock above you.

You begin at the Crash Site: a wrecked pod half-buried in glowing moss, violet crystal clusters, and a single shaft of pale light falling from far overhead. Armed with a blaster, your suited explorer steps out to find a glowing pink relic on a pedestal, giant mushroom caps to leap onto, and a sealed teal doorway leading deeper into the caverns.

Keep an eye on your Hull meter as you explore, and use the minimap to track where you have been. A row of locked ability slots hints at what was lost in the crash: track down your missing suit modules to open new paths and push toward the surface.

Moody pixel art, drifting motes, and cool neon highlights make every cavern feel quiet, strange, and worth exploring.
