Sanguine Vigil opens at The Gate of Ash: a moonlit graveyard under steady rain, lined with weathered headstones, a stone cross and flickering torches. A bare, twisted tree stretches across the sky, and the silhouette of a gothic cathedral looms behind it.
You play a white-haired hunter in a crimson coat, crossing the cemetery grounds on foot. Near the entrance stands a candlelit altar marked with a skull. Heavy stone brick walls frame the path on either side.
The interface keeps things classic. A segmented red Vitae bar tracks your health, a Tithe counter tallies your score, and a heart counter sits beside an empty item slot waiting to be filled.
Rendered in moody, low-lit pixel art, this is a side-scrolling descent into gothic horror in the tradition of old-school castle-crawling platformers.
