About

The building emptied hours ago. Down in the basement, under one warm lamp, the performing-arts archive keeps its quiet watch — and tonight, you're on shift.

Archive Shift is a calm, thoughtful idle-management game about rescuing forgotten cultural material. Boxes of tapes, photographs and discs arrive through the night. Inspect each one, clean what's fragile, digitize the contents, and research the stories they can't tell on their own. Then make the call: stamp the record verified, or file it uncertain and come back when you know more.

Some boxes hide duplicates — compare them side by side and decide what's a copy and what's a distinct piece of history. Earn the board's trust, survive the odd ceiling leak, invest in better equipment, and publish exhibitions that return decades of performances to the historical record.

  • Twelve unique items across three formats, each with its own clues and mysteries
  • Three processing stations running on real timers — work continues while you're away
  • Cataloguing with judgment — the evidence guides you, but the stamp is yours
  • Duplicate detective work, operational events, and four meaningful upgrades
  • A gentle guided first shift, full keyboard support, scalable text, and reduced-motion options

No rush, no game over — just you, the lamplight, and the record waiting to be restored.
