Four Flags of the Caribbean drops you into a colonial-era sea split between England, France, Portugal and the free pirates. Twenty islands, one captain, and a sea that belongs to no one.
At sea you command the ship directly: raise and lower sail, work the rudder and fire broadsides to port or starboard. Switch between round shot, chain shot and grapeshot to suit the fight, and zoom the top-down camera in and out with the mouse wheel. One key handles docking at a port, boarding an enemy vessel or landing on shore.
On land the captain fights in person. Swing a saber, fire a pistol, dash out of trouble and take a swig of rum to keep going. A world map helps you plot your next course between the islands.
The stylized 3D world is seen from above: turquoise shallows, sandy beaches lined with palms, dense green island interiors, small harbour towns and ships riding at anchor. Note that the in-game interface is in Russian.
