Deep in the old forest stands your cabin. When the sun sets, mystical creatures crawl out of the trees to snuff out its hearth. Hearthwood Vigil is a day-and-night defense game set among dense pines, mossy boulders and winding stone paths.
By day, click trees and boulders to gather wood and stone, and raise lumber camps and quarries to gather for you. A countdown shows when nightfall arrives, or you can begin the night early when you feel ready. Keep an eye on your cabin's health bar: it is the one thing you cannot lose.
Build your defenses along the stone paths the creatures follow: archer towers, spike traps, palisades and spirit braziers. Fallen creatures leave spirit essence, a rare resource you spend on powerful upgrades and on the strongest structures. Survive 10 nights to win.
Press Space at any time to pause and plan. Left-click to chop, mine, build and select, use number keys 1-6 to pick buildings, right-drag or WASD to move the view, the mouse wheel to zoom, and Q/E to rotate. Adjustable game speed lets you hurry through calm stretches.
