BLACKOUT PROTOCOL opens on a sprawling pixel-art cyberpunk skyline: violet towers dotted with lit windows, glowing signs reading TOUCHLESS, PINKNOISE, PILL and BUG, and a magenta-lined street where a group of figures stands waiting under the city lights.
From the title screen you can start a New Game, open the Sector Map to see where the city's districts lie, or visit the Byte Bazaar, the game's shop. A BTC counter in the corner tracks your currency, starting at zero, so every coin you bring back counts.
The look is cohesive retro pixel art in deep purples and midnight blues, cut with electric cyan and hot magenta neon. The cast on the street ranges from a hooded gray figure to characters with white, teal and red hair, hinting at the people you will meet in this oppressive, glowing metropolis.
Plays right in your browser, with an Options menu available from the start.
