Before you play, you enter a pilot name and hit START. That name is your identity: the title screen states that it keeps your bots, your Bolts, your points and your kill/death record, so your progress stays tied to the pilot you create.
The tagline sums up the pitch: Build it. Bolt it. Blow them up. Name your pilot and step in.
