Nine pictures were scattered into the aether. One hundred and eight fragments. None of them can simply be picked up — a fragment only becomes real when someone tunes to it.
You stand at a great ring. Somewhere on it, resonance is drifting. Turn the ring, listen to the field quicken, and hold steady inside a resonance until the fragment forms in your hands. That holding costs Energy — and Energy returns only when you are calm. Thrash at the ring and the field grows dissonant. Run dry and it collapses, and everything you were carrying slips back into the dark.
Here is the strange part: the field is reading you. Your speed. Your stillness. Whether you keep a rhythm or tear back and forth. Whether you wander the whole ring or go straight to the point. Each of the nine Aspects answers to a different way of playing — Ember to the swift, Stone to the patient, Tide to the rhythmic, Storm to the chaotic, Thread to the precise, Hollow to those who do nothing at all, Bloom to the wanderers, Echo to those who return again and again. And Spark answers to nothing but coincidence; it has never once been found by someone looking for it.
Which means you cannot complete the 108 playing only one way. Somewhere in here is a version of you that sits perfectly still for a full minute, and another that never hesitates for a second. Both of them have fragments waiting.
