Blade of the Frontier opens on the Kingdom of Solvara, a bright, chunky low-poly world of rolling green hills, pine and leafy trees, and snow-capped mountains under puffy faceted clouds. On a cliff in the distance stands a blue-spired castle, a waterfall spilling from the rock beneath it, while a small village of blue- and red-roofed cottages with hanging banners sits in the valley below.
The story begins as a narrated cutscene in a storybook voice: long ago, Solvara bloomed with color, for the Heartstone of the Crown shared its light with every land. Narration appears in a framed text box that you advance with Enter or a click, and you can press Esc to skip the scene entirely.
Inspired by Brave Fencer Musashi, this is a fantasy action-adventure about a young swordsman, built around saturated colors, cartoon shapes, and an earnest tale that hints at something more behind the kingdom's cheerful surface.
