Open Sea

Open Sea puts you at the helm of a wooden sailing ship in a sunlit island archipelago. Seen from a third-person view, your tricorn-hatted captain steers between jungle-covered cliffs, distant peaks and towering sea stacks. Waves roll, light glitters across bright turquoise water, and a compass bar across the top of the screen marks your heading and the distance to your next destination.

Sailing is hands-on. Raise or lower the sails with W and S, steer with A and D, drop the anchor with R, and leave the helm with F. A ship panel tracks sail setting, speed in knots, wind conditions, hull water and anchor status, so you always know how your vessel is holding up.

Your voyage begins with a simple order: sail to Crescent Isle, where the X is marked on your map. Treasure chests are your fortune. Sell them to work toward a 3,000 gold goal, and keep your health bar full along the way. A hotbar holds your gear, including a sword, a pistol with ammunition, a shovel for digging up loot and a bucket.

Chart the isles, unearth the gold and become a Pirate Legend. Best enjoyed with headphones.
