Pokémon: Regions United

Pokémon: Regions United opens with a trainer creation screen. Type in any name you like, then build your look one row at a time: Skin, Hair, Cap, Jacket and Trousers, each with its own set of colour swatches.

There are five skin tones, six hair colours (from brown and black to blonde, red, purple and silver), six cap colours, six jacket colours and five trouser shades. A pixel art preview of your trainer, shown from above and behind in the classic handheld style, updates as you choose, so you can see the red cap, blue jacket and denim trousers come together before you commit.

Everything runs on the keyboard: Up/Down picks a category, Left/Right cycles the colours, type to set your name, and press Enter to start. It is a clean, bright menu with crisp pixel sprites and saturated colours, a simple first step on the road ahead.
