Lantern Hollow opens on a quiet roadside at dusk: a lone figure in a long coat stands beside a payphone under the warm glow of a single streetlamp. Behind them, dark pines fade into rolling fog and grey mountain peaks.
The premise arrives in one line: October 1993. The sun hung at 6:12 p.m. for nine hours. From there, you choose New Investigation and step into the mystery.
The world is drawn in detailed pixel art with a muted, near-monochrome palette. Amber light from the streetlamp is the main splash of warmth against the cold blue-grey haze. Menus use clean monospace text and are navigated with the keyboard: Up/Down to choose, Enter to confirm. A Controls screen is available from the title menu.
