12 June 1944, near Saint-Lô. Third Platoon is pinned east of the river, and your squad has to hold a farm crossroads so the column can pass behind you. Hedgerow Line is a real-time strategy game set in the rain-soaked bocage, where muddy lanes and thick hedges are the only cover you get.
You lead a single squad of five: Sgt. Hale with his Thompson SMG, Cpl. Rourke on the Browning Automatic Rifle, riflemen Dawes and Kowalski with M1 Garands, and radioman Reyes carrying an M1 Carbine. Every one of them starts out as a recruit. Move your men with click-to-move orders and put them behind the hedgerows before the enemy arrives through the lane and the fields to the north.
Each mission opens with a typewritten operations order that lays out the intel and the stakes. In the first, three enemy waves are expected. Keep at least one man inside the crossroads circle and don't let the squad be wiped out, or the mission fails.
The campaign runs across five missions, rendered in stylized low-poly 3D with rain falling over dark hedges, farm buildings and smoking fields. It plays solo in your browser, and it is tense, grim and grounded.
