Ink Wanderer

Ink Wanderer is a side-scrolling atmospheric adventure rendered in Japanese sumi-e ink wash. A lone samurai in a wide straw hat walks a narrow cliff road whose edges bleed downward in wet, dripping brush strokes, while the land ahead dissolves into pale grey mist.

A calligraphy brush floats in the air before the wanderer, waiting at the point where the solid ground ends and the empty fog begins. The world is mostly negative space: rice-paper grain, soft grey gradients, a few dark pine clumps drifting at the edge of the frame, and stray leaves carried on the wind.

The journey is divided into chapters, opening with I: The Road in the Mist. Faint red seal stamps mark the chapter title and run down the side of the screen, the only touches of color in a palette of ink black and grey.

Quiet, contemplative, and minimal, this is a game about walking slowly through mist and ink.
