Catch the blink. Every reset reshuffles the office. Some doors open onto daylight.
NOT AN EXIT opens with an internal memo from Facilities: the office has been reorganised, and it will be reorganised again every time you blink. You wander a first-person maze of identical grey corridors, each blink producing a new floor plan, a new arrangement of desks, a new location for the stairwell that may or may not lead out.

“NOT AN EXIT — a first-person backrooms escape set in a liminal 1990s office that never ends. CORE HOOK (the whole game): THE OFFICE REARRANGES EVERY TIME YOU BLINK. Blinking is not a cutscene. Blink and the corridor behind you is not the corridor you left. Doorways relocate. Stairs change which floor they open onto. The exit sign you were walking toward now hangs above a supply closet. The player learns to stop trusting spatial memory and start reading the space fresh on every blink. LOOK (match the uploaded style reference EXACTLY): fluorescent liminal corridor, damp stained carpet, peeling yellow wallpaper, buzzing tube lights, direct-flash photograph look, eerie emptiness, 1990s office that never ends, slight lens distortion, overexposed highlights, unsettling stillness. Muted sickly yellow-green cast, no strong shadows, everything slightly too bright and slightly too quiet. 16:9 landscape. MOVEMENT + BLINK SYSTEM: - WASD walk, mouse look, pointer lock. Walking speed is deliberately slow and heavy-footed, like wading. - A BLINK meter drains constantly. It is never safe to hold still. When the meter empties, your eyes water shut involuntarily and the world reshuffles around you. - SPACE = blink early on purpose. Master players blink on a rhythm to steer the reshuffle in their favour rather than being caught by it. - Every blink re-rolls the layout graph: corridor segments, door positions, stairwell targets, the placement of EXIT signage. THE LOOP: Find an EXIT sign. Follow it. It lies. Each sign you touch costs time and reveals how far from the truth you are. Three escalation layers: FLOOR 0 is open-plan cubicles. FLOOR 1 adds server rooms and a buzzing electrical hum that gets louder the closer you are to something real. FLOOR 2 is executive suites and carpeted halls, the most expensive-looking and least real. Each floor rearranges faster than the last. FEEL: no enemies, no jump scares, no fail state. The horror is entirely bureaucratic and spatial. No music. Only fluorescent buzz, HVAC drone, and your own footsteps. An occasional distant office printer starts and stops as if someone just left. GOAL: reach the one door that opens onto daylight. It exists. It is findable. The game never lies about that, only about where it is. Ship it complete in one pass: full floor progression, the blink meter, the layout reshuffle, exit-sign logic, a HUD showing floor and blink charge, and a win state with the door onto daylight. ”
