Unknown Contact is a horror story told entirely through a phone's messaging screen. At 3:47 in the morning, with the battery at 36%, a message arrives from a contact whose status reads last seen 1 year ago: "are you awake".

You respond by picking from a set of replies. Ask who is this, insist it's a wrong number, or simply ignore it and go back to sleep. Each choice steers the conversation, and a progress bar above the options shows the conversation moving along. If you get impatient, tap the chat to hurry replies along.

The screen itself is part of the unease: a cracked display with spidering fractures and flickering glitch artifacts, faint fingerprint smudges on the glass, and a dark interface lit only by the glow of the messages.
